This is an application for a handicap for the Vallarta Yacht Club Events. If your boat competed in a previous BBR or Vallarta Cup and it hasn't changed, you probably don't need to do this! If you aren't sure, have a look at the rating sheets from past events, here. Just let us know what handicap we used for you and what year you competed. Generally, we base these handicaps on US PHRF for your boat (Southern California PHRF is preferred), so if you already have a PHRF certificate, you'll help us a lot by providing a copy, just email to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or drop a copy by the club. We base monohull ratings on Southern California PHRF, Random Leg Course. Multi Hull ratings are based on Texel Rating Rule, 2008. If your boat is a standard production model, please include the measurement information provided by the boat builder/manufacturer or designer. This can be found in the published listing of Critical Dimensions from US PHRF. If your boat is a custom design or has been modified from a production model, please include the manufacturer or designer’s information along with pictures/line drawings of the underbody and rig and a list of the modifications. Cruising boats are futher adjusted for extra weight, types and sizes of sails, etc. The more information you can provide, the better we can handicap your boat. Please help us help you!
