‍Commodore's Corner | ‍Hola Amigos!
Whether you’re here in Banderas Bay or away, Vallarta Yacht Club is always waiting for you.  This past year has brought new energy to VYC. We’ve had our challenges and we've had big successes! Thank you to everyone who jumped aboard and put in the blood, sweat and tears to keep our club thriving. Â
As you know, after 22 years at our location next to Paradise Village, we got the boot. The news initially sent us reeling but we quickly righted the ship and got back on our feet. At the new location, upstairs in the Northwest corner of the hospital building, we have refound our home with more space, our same professional and fun staff and a new look. Â
With all of you, we are working to be stronger than ever and are looking forward to seeing you soon! |

The Club's New LookVYC Unveils New Mural as Part of an Exciting Renovation! | As a proud member of Vallarta Yacht Club (VYC), I'm thrilled to share that our beloved club is undergoing a significant makeover, with a striking new mural taking center stage. The renovation project, which began in May and is set to continue through October, aims to revitalize our club and enhance our members' experience. At the heart of this transformation is a captivating mural by renowned artist Daniel Garra. This stunning piece of art draws inspiration from the Banderas Bay International Regatta, one of the oldest and most prestigious international sailing events on Mexico's west coast. This regatta, long sponsored by VYC, has been a cornerstone of our club's deep connection to the broader sailing community.

| | | "The Best Burger in Nuevo!" |
| ‍The next time you visit the Club, try the All Aboard Burger - called by many "the best burger in Nuevo".  What makes our burger so special? “It’s the meat,” claims Rudy Trejo, the Club Manager. Rudy has experimented over the years and listened to the members’ feedback to find the most flavorful, juicy patty that strikes the ideal balance between lean and fat for the perfect blend. For the past 16 years, Rudy has exclusively sourced the club’s beef from the same place, ensuring consistency and quality with every bite. Â
When it comes to cooking, the All Aboard burger patty is beautifully seared to keep the inside tender and juicy, creating a satisfying texture that enhances its flavor. Over the years, VYC chefs have been trained on specific cooking techniques and instructed to follow our tried-and-true recipe to maintain the high-quality standard our members have come to expect.  While standard toppings include grilled onions, tomato slices, lettuce, pickles, cheese and bacon, there’s flexibility to make it uniquely yours. Rudy claims the VYC kitchen is the members’ kitchen away from home, so your burger will be made your way.  And no great burger is complete without its sidekick - fabulous fries! Choose between wedge or French fries that are the perfect balance between crispiness and tenderness. Is your mouth watering yet?  So come on aboard and feast on the All Aboard Burger! |

| VYC summer campers learn to sail! | ‍VYC's Junior Sailing Summer CampsInspiring Youth to Discover the World of Sailing | ‍"Muy divertido!" "Les gusta ir al mar!" "Conocer amigos y aprender a velear!" This is how our campers describe VYC's Summer Camp! Â
Vallarta Yacht Club's summer program offers kids an unforgettable experience learning to sail on Banderas Bay and so much more! Since its inception in 2007, the VYC Summer Program has introduced hundreds of children to the exhilarating world of sailing aboard our club’s fleet of sailboats. This year, we will hold 4 week-long summer camps for kids ages 6 to 17, serving 15-20 young sailors per week. We asked Keyla Hernadez, VYC Director of Junior Sailing, to give us an inside look at what a week at VYC Summer Camp looks like. Â

| | Andy Barrow | ‍Meet Andy Barrow, a long-time, dedicated VYC member, through this insightful interview. Â
How did you discover Nuevo Vallarta and Vallarta Yacht Club?  We came to Nuevo Vallarta in 2007 at the suggestion of a friend who said I could spend a weekend volunteering for the J/24 World Championships that VYC was hosting. I spent a couple of days helping to hoist boats in and out of the water. One evening we were sitting around talking and I commented on how much I liked our friends' townhouse. A few months later I owned a townhouse three doors down. Biggest impulse buy of my life!  We also joined the club in 2007. We had purchased our townhouse that spring, and the club was having a member promotion. I was still working in Angola part-time, and we started spending my "off hitch" time at our Nuevo townhouse instead of our house in California. We were basically here every other month until the spring of 2008. We moved a LOT when I was working for Chevron. Since it was pretty easy to fall into the trap of only associating with people from work, we always looked for other organizations and clubs, particularly those that gave an opportunity to volunteer and help the community. Since one of the club's stated missions was to help the community, we felt it was a perfect fit for us. Of course, the focus on boating and sailing didn't hurt! Â
