3:00 - 5:00 Introduction - Steve Van Slyke - To and Through the Marquesas
Steve's talk and slide presentation will provide first-time “puddlejumpers” with advice on routes from Mexico to the French Polynesian islands known as the Marquesas, as well as suggestions for routes through the Marquesas to maximize islands and anchorages visited, while taking advantage of the prevailing winds to minimize upwind sailing. The attractions and dangers of several anchorages will be discussed as well as some general comments about provisioning opportunities and clearance procedures. Recommendations for short-stay (one week) and long-stay (three weeks+) intineraries will be presented. He will also briefly touch on routes through the Tuamotus and options for cyclone season.

Vallarta Cup Race Series
Vallarta Yacht Club kicks off the racing season with the Vallarta Cup Series - racing every Saturday of the month (Jan 4, 11, 18, 25). We cap off every racing day with an "apre-sail" party at the club. It's a great event! To register, or for more information, click here.
6:00 Cuban Night with Luna Rumba

Get down Cuban style for our second Saturday party of January with the locally famous Luna Rumba Band.

Chef Israel will be serving rice and black beans, BBQ ribs, banana flambe and a mojito or soft drink all for just $150 pesos.

Luna Rumba will start the congas kickin' at 6pmÂ

Vallarta Yacht Club is and always will be an independent, volunteer-run, non-profit organization of boating enthusiasts. Our mission is:

To provide an attractive, comfortable, and active private social environment for residents of and visitors to Banderas Bay who have interest in yachting, other aquatic activities, sport fishing, sport diving, and related social activities.
To promote, sponsor, manage, and provide facilities for amateur and professional regional, national, and international aquatic events such as yacht regattas and rallies, sport fishing tournaments, sport diving events, and marine training and educational programs and seminars.
To sponsor charitable events and activities which benefit the Banderas Bay region and its residents.
